Abstract

SUMMARY The inferential research work was carried out at Finca Agropecuaria las Elviras, which belongs to the municipality of San Francisco Zapotitlán, in the department of Suchitepéquez. One of the main phytosanitary problems of the macadamia crop those faces is the so-called "descending death" caused by the pathogen P. cinnamomi. Does not have an efficient sanitary program to control this disease, so the evaluation of sanitary programs is proposed to establish an efficient treatment to control this disease. For this research, a bifactorial experiment was implemented in a randomized block design with a strip arrangement, due to the complexity to randomize the treatments, 9 treatments and 4 repetitions were implemented. Factor A levels are made up of the following products: Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate, Metalaxyl + Mancozeb in combination with Potassium Phosphite, and Cymoxanil + Mancozeb in combination with Potassium Phosphite. Factor B levels are made up of the application doses, which are 75%, 100 and 125% of the recommended dose. All doses are expressed in grams of active ingredient per tree (g a.i./tree) of each product. Based on the statistical results and the cost estimate, it was determined that treatment 5 (Metalaxyl + Mancozeb plus potassium phosphite with a dose of 9 + 7 gr a.i./tree (100%)) is the most efficient and reduces production costs. application in 3.75%, as a second alternative treatment 2 (Metalaxyl + Mancozeb plus potassium phosphite with the dose of 6.75 + 5.25 gr a.i./tree (75%)) being highly efficient for the control of incidence and severity and with an efficiency less in root development. Regarding the application costs, it reduces them by 23.22%. The least efficient treatment for the control of the incidence and severity was treatment 3 (Cymoxanil + Mancozeb plus potassium phosphite with the dose of 6.75 + 5.25 gr a.i./tree), since no tree was recovered at the end of the investigation.
