Abstract
SUMMARY. This document describes the evaluation of four organic products for the control of Hemileia vastatrix Berk & Br. Coffee rust, in the Caturra variety, established on the Esperanza farm, located in the municipality of Zunilito, Suchitepéquez. For this, a completely randomized block design was produced, since it was the one that best suited this evaluation. Through the degrees of freedom of the error, five repetitions will be produced for the design of the experiment, being the products evaluated: Royano, Lecatrol, Timorex gold and an emulsion of worm humus. Five treatments were evaluated, number one being the absolute control without any control, four applications of the products were made with intervals of 21 days, a total of five measurements of the percentage of incidence and severity were made to determine their behavior, one of them was prior to the application of the products, the response variable was the incidence and severity of H. vastatrix coffee rust. For the statistical analysis, a conversion to arcsine of the square root of the data obtained in percentage was performed, then an analysis of variance was performed. Where it will be added that there was a significant difference between the evaluated treatments, for which a Tukey means test was carried out at 5% significance, in which it was shown that the best treatment evaluated on rust control was the treatment five (Royano) with a mean incidence of 8.03%, however, there was no significant difference between treatments 3 (Timorex Gold) with a mean of 10.10% and treatment 4 (Lecatrol) with a mean of 12.03% of incidence. Through a cost analysis, it will be required that treatment five (Royano) present a higher benefit/cost ratio, having a profit margin of Q 5,668.09/ha. being the best evaluated treatment.
