Abstract
SUMMARY The general objective of the research was the evaluation of three insecticides and seven fungicides for the control of the Membracis mexicana insect and the Botrytis cinerea fungus in the inflorescences of Macadamia integrifolia, on the “La Suiza” farm located in the municipality of Palmar, Quetzaltenango. It was possible to determine which of the insecticides evaluated reduced the incidence rate of M. mexicana, which of the fungicides evaluated reduce the incidence rate of B. cinérea, and also, obtain which of the combinations of insecticides and fungicides improve the percentage of health in M. integrifolia inflorescences; obtain which of the evaluated treatments generates the highest yield of wet nut in shell per hectare and determine the benefit-cost relationship of the treatments evaluated for the control of M. mexicana and B. cinerea in inflorescence of M. integrifolia. For its implementation, a bifactor arrangement was used with a complete randomized block design in divided plots, evaluating two interacting factors, insecticides (factor A) and fungicides (factor B). The insecticides evaluated were Acefate 97% (ZARPA 97 SG) at a dose of 0.71 kg/ha, Lambda cyhalothrin 5.4% (KARATE ZEON 5 EC), at a dose of 1.11 L/ha and chlorpyrifos, (FORAFOS 48 EC), at a dose of 1.11 L/ha; and the fungicides evaluated were Dodina 40%, (SYLLIT 400 SC), at a dose of 1.25 L/ha; Methyl thiophanate, (CYCOSIN 50 SC), at a dose of 1.4 L/ha; Difenoconazole +cyprodinil, (INSPIRED GOLD), at a dose of 0.6 L/ha; Tea tree oil extract 22.25%, (TIMOREX GOLD), at a dose of 0.4 L/ha, Prochloraz 40%, (MIRAGE 40EC), at a dose of 1.25 l/ha, Fluoxastrabine+tebuconazole, (EVITO T), in dose of 0.5L/ha and Fludioxinil+cyprodinil, (SWITCH 62.5WG), in doses of 0.5 kg/ha. It was determined that the insecticides Lambda cyhalothrin (KARATE ZEON), Chlorpyrifos (CLORPIRIFOS) and Acefate (ZARPA), reduced the incidence rate of Membracis mexicana in a range of 9.48 to 5.8% compared to the absolute control that had a 13.66% rate. incidence of the insect.
