Abstract
SUMMARY Finca Pampojilá is part of the company Agropecuaria Atitlán S.A. It is located in the municipality of San Lucas Tolimán, Sololá. It has an extension of 408.69 hectares, with 208.58 hectares as a natural reserve and 204.11 hectares used as a productive area for the cultivation of Coffea arabica "Coffee", Persea americana "Avocado" and Hylocersus spp "Pitahaya", dedicating itself mainly to the production of these crops. Finca Pampojilá complies with Global Gap and Rainforest Alliance certification standards, which means that the company uses products that have no negative effects on the environment and have low residual values. According to the monitoring conducted by Finca Pampojilá during the months of December to January 2022, the average incidence of the Frankliniella sp. insect was 47%, making it necessary to control it, so an alternative was sought to control the pest with less toxic products that have low residuals, since these Frankliniella sp. "Trips" insects attack flowers and fruit, resulting in a problem when making phytosanitary applications since some products have long harvest intervals. For the Persea americana "Avocado" crop, the presence of the insect Frankliniella sp. "Trips" causes damage to fruit and tender flower buds, leaves and branches, significantly affecting its production. It is important to control this pest. Within the crop of P. americana "Avocado" in lot Macillo 3 of Finca Pampojilá, research was carried out on four biological agents for the control of Frankliniella sp. "Trips", being these 1) Spionoace (Spinosyn A and Spinosyn D), 2) Beauveria bassiana "Mycotrol", 3) Metarhizium anisopliae "Met Forte" and 4) Azadirachta indica "Neem" oil plus Allium sativum "Ajo" extract; using a randomized complete block design with 5 replications. Three applications of the products were made with a period of 15 days and four monitoring of the "Trips" population, the first monitoring was carried out one week before the first application and the following ones one week after each application, waiting for the products to react with the pest. During the monitoring, the number of eggs, larvae and adults was observed; the number of pupae was not taken into account since this pest develops mainly in the soil.
