Abstract

SUMARY Finca Tululá and Finca Vaquíl are farms managed by the Tululá S.A. mill. which are located in the municipality of San Andrés Villa Seca, Retalhuleu, dedicated to the exploitation of the Saccharum officinarum sugar cane crop. For this research, a John Deere CH 507 series mechanical harvester was used, used by the mill for mechanized harvesting on farms with flat land conditions in which this time of agricultural machinery can be used. With the objective of evaluating the damage caused in meters of damaged furrows without tiller at three travel speeds which make up three treatments 2.5 km/h, 3.0 km/h and 3.5 km/h. An ANDEVA and a Tukey test at 5% significance were used to analyze the information. As results of the research, treatment T2 2.5 km/h generated an average/ha of 913.50 meters of damaged furrow equivalent to 16% damage per hectare, compared to treatments one and three with 1,222.11 and 1,144.33 meters and with a percentage damage/ha of 21% and 22%, has less impact in terms of damage in meters of furrow/ha without sugar cane. Considering the results obtained, it is recommended to use a forward speed of 2.5 km/h for the John Deere CH 507 series combine to generate a lesser negative impact on the farms harvested mechanized on land that meets the conditions for carrying out this type. of cutting in farms under the administration of engineer Tululá S.A.
