Abstract

SUMMARY Finca Pampojilá is located in the municipality of San Lucas Tolimán in the department of Sololá, it is mainly cultivated Persian American Mill "Avocado" in an area of 29.17 ha. The need has arisen to carry out the present research that aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of foliar fertilizer sources (mineral salts, chelates and growth regulators) in the production of avocado, specifically in area Maicillo 3 that occupies an area of 3.09 ha; for this purpose, a design of complete random blocks was executed with six treatments and four repetitions. The result was a total of 24 experimental units, constituted by eight trees, leaving for the measurement of the variables only four trees per net plot, the measured variables were: yield in kilograms per hectare of fruits, average fruit weight, average equatorial and polar diameter of fruits and the benefit-cost-per-treatment ratio evaluated; these variables were analyzed of variance at five percent significance. Consequently, the yields of the fruits in the treatments were for: T6 (mineral salts) 5,339.58 kg/ha; for T2 and T3 (chelates) 5,313.97 and 5224.34 kg/ha respectively; and for T1 (mineral salts and amino acids) 4308.80 kg/ha; for T4 (growth regulators) 3,982.28 kg/ha and for T5 (without application) 3,706.98 kg/ha. With a significant difference, of 277,625, so it was obtained that mineral salts increase production in contrast to the use of sources of amino acids and growth regulators. Consequently, the average weight of fruits in the diameters and given the a significant difference of 0.011 it was necessary to analyze the averages according to the Tukey criterion, the results were that, the T6 and T2 treatments composed of mineral salts and kelates are the ones that presented the best yields, with an average of 0.26 kg per fruit, unlike, of the T3, T1 and T4 treatments with averages of 0.24 kg, 0.22 and 0.21 kg respectively, being the T5, with the minimum gain in weight with averages of 0.19 kg.
