Abstract

SUMMARY The present research was carried out on the Santa Maria farm located northeast of the municipality of San Lorenzo, Suchitepéquez at an approximate height of 210 meters above sea level and a territorial area of 65.28 hectares, where the cultivation of rubber H. brasiliensis clone RRIM 600 is established, the exploitation of this crop being the main source of income that said farm has, producing through the production of first-class chipa, coagulum and hilacha. . This research was carried out in areas assigned for the establishment of the yellow corn crop Zea mays L. with the objective of evaluating the yield in kg/ha of four treatments consisting of (DK 7500, DK 7088, IMPACTO-SYNGENTA and ADVANTA 9293). An ANDEVA and a Tukey test at 5% significance were used to analyze the information. The profitability index of each of the treatments. As results of the research, the ADVANTA 9293 hybrid allowed obtaining 5,757.58 kg/ha, having a higher production compared to the other three hybrids evaluated. Furthermore, the profitability index showed that the ADVANTA 9293 hybrid generated 90.54% profitability, allowing 58% to be recovered for each quetzal that was invested, being the most profitable. Considering the results obtained, it is recommended to use the ADVANTA 9293 hybrid, since it generates greater production in kg/ha in the current conditions climate prevailing in the area where the production unit is located.I.
