Abstract

SUMMARY The present investigation it was done in it cultive of Hevea brasiliensis estableced on the farm, Saint Ann Mixpillá which is located in the municipality of San Miguel Panán, department of Suchitepéquez, at kilometer 147.5 on the highway to Chicacao, Guatemala. The general objective focused on the evaluation of five concentrations of the stimulant Ethephon (Ethrel Latex 10 SL (10% a.i.)) on the pica panel in the culture of Hevea brasiliensis, “Hule”, clone RRIM 600 An experiment was established with a completely randomized design, which allowed comparing the treatments evaluated, which were the concentrations of (2%, 2.5%, 3%, 3.3% and 3.5%) of Ethephon at 10% active ingredient. An analysis of variance was applied to the results, which determined that statistically all concentrations acted in the same way; therefore, an economic analysis was performed to identify the treatment with the greatest benefit/cost ratio. The treatments with the highest benefit-cost ratio were those in which concentrations of Ethephon were applied at 2.5% and 3.30% with Q21.00 and Q 22.00 for each quetzal invested, while the treatment with 3% concentration of Etephon had the lowest benefit-cost ratio. cost with Q 19.51. Derived from the study, it is recommended to use the Ethephon stimulant concentration of 3.30% for all farms associated with the Rubber Workers' Guild, because it has a greater benefit/cost ratio and favored the yield of dry rubber (kg/h) among the others. stimulant concentrations, currently the 2.5% concentration is being applied.
