Abstract
SUMMARY This document contains the research report carried out on the Monte Alegre farm of Ingenio la Unión, in the municipality of La Gomera, department of Escuintla, Guatemala C.A... Its objective was to evaluate five seed disinfection treatments prior to sowing sugarcane. Sugar Saccharum officinarum L., Poaceae, variety CG02-163. The study was carried out in a definitive field, the density used was six poles per linear meter (12 years), planted in a semi-mechanized way. The response variables with the greatest weight were: 1Yield in metric tons per hectare (t/ha-1); 2Sugar yield in kilogram per metric ton (kgAz/tc); 3Tons of sugar per hectare (TAH) and 4Profitability analysis. In field yield, it was shown that two treatments were above the minimum significant difference (DMS = 8.16 t/ha-1), 134.8 t/ha-1 for T3 “Fipronil + Ciproconazole; Azoxystrobin + Etoprofos”, with 12.5 metric tons of cane above the absolute control (T5= 122.3 t/ha-1), followed by the biological treatment T1 Trichoderma harzianum with an average of 130.6 t/ha-1 with 8.3 metric tons above the absolute witness. For the factory yield in kilograms of sugar per metric ton (KAz/tc) there was no statistical difference (P=0.4461). Next, in tons of sugar per hectare (TAH), only one treatment was above the minimum significant difference (DMS=1.51804), with an average of 18.59 tons of sugar per hectare (TAH) for treatment T3 “Fipronil + Ciproconazole ; Azoxystrobin + Etoprofos”, 2.52 TAH above the absolute control T5 treatment (T5=16.07 TAH). Finally, in the profitability analysis, it is estimated that treatment T3 “Fipronil+Ciproconazole; Azoxystrobin +Etoprofos”, presented a greater utility of $USD 4756.72, which is equivalent to $USD 813.49 above the control absolute T5 treatment (T5=3,943.22), with a profitability (ROE) of 128.5%, a return or investment (ROI) of 28.5 and a benefit-cost ratio (RBC) of $1.29 profit for every $1 invested.
