Abstract

ABSTRACT On the El Carmen farm, Colomba Costa Cuca, Quetzaltenango, this research was carried out on the use of hydrogen peroxide to control Ceratocystis fimbriata, gray mold on the pica panel of rubber cultivation. The objectives were: Evaluate the compatibility of the three mixtures of the products to be used, compare the incidence and severity of each of the treatments in the control of gray mold (Ceratocystis fimbriata) and a profitability analysis of the treatments in kilograms of rubber. dry. The age of the plantation was six years after sowing, which is called plantation. At this age, the first year of rubber exploitation took place, called the pica year, with a 1/3 S descending pica system. , with spike frequency D4, with a spike angle of 60º, a random block design was used having eight treatments including the absolute control, using four repetitions, of which each treatment was 25 trees, the parameters of incidence and severity as indicators of the effectiveness of each treatment. None of the mixtures showed incompatibility, so hydrogen peroxide can be used with the fungicides that were used in the research. The mixture of Tebuconazole and tridimenol + fosetyl aluminum + OXY BLAST (hydrogen peroxide) was the best control compared to the others, having an average of 1.43 incidence and 1.52 severity. In addition, he obtained an average of nine days of control on the pica panel. The most profitable treatment for the cost of fungicides was the mixture Prochloraz + Phthalimide folpet + OXY BLAST (hydrogen peroxide). The highest cost of the treatments was given by the price of fungicides, the price of hydrogen peroxide is of lower value. Due to the results obtained, it is recommended to use the mixture Prochloraz + Phthalimide folpet + OXY BLAST (hydrogen peroxide), which has the greatest benefit in terms of cost and is effective in the control of Ceratocystis fimbriata.
