Abstract

SUMMARY This research studied the couples of students of the basic cycle of the National Institute of Basic Education of San Antonio Suchitepéquez, who have a dating relationship. For this, information was collected on the phenomenon of adolescence and its biological, psychic, emotional and social expressions, by consulting physical and electronic books and scientific documents. The data and testimonies of the informants were collected while the Practice II of the system of Practices of the degree in Psych pedagogy was carried out. Taking advantage of the researcher's teaching relationship with the students, testimonies were compiled about the way in which the institute sexually guides the student body and how it guides the dating relationships between them. Semi-structured interviews and free interviews with the students were applied to study their dating relationships. The research uncovers the myths, beliefs, and assumptions that the social circle handles around dating between adolescents. The study confirms that the dating relationships of students occur between the same study partners and with students from other educational centers. It was confirmed that most of the courtships begin in the second year of the basic cycle and that 70% of the parents disagree with these romantic relationships of their children. The educational establishments of the basic cycle, both public and private, do not have technical personnel who exercise educational guidance that addresses the issue of dating between students.
