Abstract

Summary The present research work consisted of the evaluation of original and generic neonicotinoid insecticides for the control of Aeneolamia spp., in the rainy season in the Madre Tierra Sugar Mill. The research was carried out in the cultivation of Saccharum officinarum L, which was carried out throughout the rainy season, from May to October (Detection, monitoring and combat of the pest), being the object of study evaluate the degree of control of the original and generic neonicotinoid insecticides. The production zone I of the Ingenio Madre Tierra, is located in an area with average rainfall of 3,557.77 mm / year, giving an adequate condition for the reproduction of the pest, the area has 2,464.88 hectares destined for the cultivation S. officinarum L., of 2,464.88 hectares, 1,305 hectares are potentially endemic of Aeneolamia spp., being 53% of the entire area that has high presence of the pest. The Ingenio Madre Tierra, if it does not control the pest Aeneolamia spp., with an economic threshold of 0.05-0.10 nymphs and adults per stem, has a damage index of 1,465 kg Az/ha/1 adult per stem; and the loss factor is 8.21 TCH/1adult per stem and 5.83 kg Az/t/1 adult per stem. (Márquez, J. M., 2015, p. 3). In order to reduce costs, an alternative was sought, evaluating the efficiency of generic insecticides and the original insecticides for pest control Aeneolamia spp. According to the results of the analysis of variance of each sample carried out, it was determined that there was no statistically significant difference between the original versus generic treatments, that is, the four neonicotinoid insecticides (Dantotsu 50 WG, Tempus 50 WG, Centric 75 SG and Lanza 25 WG) had the same degree of effectiveness of control over the plague Aeneolamia spp.), statistically have the same degree of control the four treatments, based on the average percentages of infestation of nymphs and adults obtained from each sampling, all treatments kept the plague controlled and with the population of nymphs and adults per stem Below the percentage of infestation allowed by the level of economic damage (0.01 to 0.20 nymphs and adults per stem), all treatments are effective in controlling the pest.
