Abstract
SUMMARY The Chitalón Farm is located north-east of the city of Mazatenango, at the exit to Cuyotenango, Suchitepéquez., on CA-2 kilometer 162. Geographically located at 14°33'03.72'' N and 91°31'38.57 '' Or, at 450 meters above sea level, the inferential investigation was carried out ``Evaluation of three types of light sources in traps to capture purr of the order Coleoptera in the Persea americana Mill avocado crop. Lauraceae family, on farm agricultural Chitalón S.A. Mazatenango, Suchitepéquez. Where the objectives were: 1) Determine which of the three light sources of the traps under evaluation, has the highest number of captures of purrs of the Coleoptera order. 2) Determine the peak period of greatest emergence of purrs of the Coleoptera order captured during the research period. 3) Determine the purr species of the Coleoptera order captured at the Chitalón farm in the avocado crop P. americana. 4) Determine the incidence of purr of the genus Coleoptera, during the research period, in the avocado crop P. americana. 5) Determine the severity of damage to the leaf area of avocado trees P. americana caused by the purr of the genus Coleoptera, during the research period. 6) Quantify investment costs of the treatments under evaluation. A completely randomized design with four repetitions was established, where three different types of light source were evaluated for the capture of purr with a relative control treatment, which were: T1 Treatment with White Light LED; T2 LED Ultraviolet Light Treatment; T3 Kerosene Yellow Light Treatment; T0 Control Treatment of Ecoiapar Molasses Traps. Using Tukey's multiple means test at 5% significance and a coefficient of variation of 4.5%, it was determined that T2 Ultraviolet Light Treatment had an average capture per trap of 260 beetle purrs, and the species P. menetriesi, P. parvisetis, P. dasypoda, Anomala spp., Compsus spp. and Passalidae; of which P. menetriesi, Compsus spp. and Anomala spp. they had a direct interaction with the avocado crop plants. the peak of capture of purrs was in the month of June; the incidence and severity of leaf purr damage was 10.9 % and 4.6 % in April, and in June it was 36.2 % and 50.1 % respectively. The cost of the traps was Q 334.64 with ultraviolet light traps and Q 94.64 with white light.
