Abstract
ABSTRACT The research addressed the problem of the effects of the closure of face-to-face schools on the graduation profile of graduating high school students in science and letters during the years of the Covid 19 pandemic. It was carried out in five National Institutes of Diversified Education of Suchitepéquez, discovering that the level of preparation of high school graduates was low, because distance education had serious economic, social, technological, and academic limitations at the level of students and teachers. Distance teaching involved students working at home to develop self-study, which required young people to be aware, discipline, mature, and persistent to develop the study guides sent by the Mineduc. At the end of the pandemic, teaching work in a hybrid way has exposed the low level of preparation of high school students who present the effects of the pandemic on their graduation profile.
