Abstract

Summary The Chipilín Crotolaria longirostrata, Mora Solanun americanum and Amaranthus bledo, are nutritionally positive crops for the human being, and help to reduce malnutrition rates in the Chocolá Agrarian community. The objective of this research was to generate nutritional and yield information by area of each of the crops in four different substrates, which allowed to know by means of a bromatological analysis of each species the nutritional value and by means of a statistical analysis the yield by area. The field experimentation took place in the experimental areas of the Non-Governmental Organization Seeds for the Future, located in the Chocolá San Pablo Jocopilas Agrarian Community, Suchitepéquez. The factors evaluated were performance, chemical analysis of each substrate, plant height at the time of cutting and bromatological analysis, this was done separately in each species. The results indicated that in the substrate composed of coffee pulp + coffee brush + ash + soil, it was the one that obtained the best yield in each of the evaluated species, in terms of the bromatological analysis the crop that bledo with has the highest level of protein for human consumption.
