Abstract

ABSTRACT This study analyzed the culture of teamwork within a higher level educational institution in the municipality of Mazatenango, department of Suchitepéquez, the development of the collaborators was analyzed from the theoretical guidelines of teamwork, through participatory observation, the interview to key informants and with the collaborators, it was possible to evaluate the culture of teamwork and the prevailing organizational climate in the municipal headquarters of the institution. It was established that the role play, the official hierarchy, the companionship and the good relations between the collaborators have propitiated greater fluidity and efficiency in the development of the activities of the institution, the decision making and the fulfillment of the obligations and duties of the institution. staff. It is concluded that, to establish, maintain and improve a culture of teamwork, the collaborators are the main responsible, guided under the vision of an administrator who encourages them with a managerial style inclined to apply the basic principles of teamwork. It follows that teamwork can be implemented if the staff is valued from the perspective of taking advantage of their talent in the formation of work teams
