Abstract

Abstract Social networks have a significant influence on adolescents, since this vulnerable population is in a decisive stage in life in which their identity, personality and inclusion within their social environment are defined. Hence, the information that circulates in cyberspace will invariably permeate the construction of their identity, values and reasoning. A quantitative methodology was used for the data recording that allowed to establish exactly patterns of behavior of the study population. Likewise, descriptive research was used, which allowed us to know the predominant forms of behavior in adolescents regarding the use of social networks and technology. With correlational research, behavioral changes in adolescents were related to different variables, and documentary research allowed the search and collection of various sources, allowing a panoramic view of the study problem. With this research, it was identified that the use of social networks in young people is part of a generational culture that they use to inform themselves, communicate, entertain themselves and, consequently, directly influences the construction of their scale of principles and values, as well as the rules of social relations that apply.
