Abstract

ABSTRACT The present investigation was developed with great impetus based on the phenomenon visualized in the pedagogical field in the midst of this COVID-19 pandemic in the municipality of Santo Tomás La Unión, Suchitepéquez. In order to determine the criteria of school principals, teaching staff, students and parents, exclusively from the National Institute of Basic Education of the referred municipality, it was essential to strategically apply survey instruments that in turn gave us a parameter of expectations about the leadership of teachers at this time of the phenomenon evidenced. The criteria of the different groups surveyed confirmed with acceptable percentages about the leadership exercised by teachers during the pandemic, in this sense it is notorious that there is knowledge of the parties and undoubtedly teachers show sympathy and dedication to the work they perform towards the student population of the establishment in which they are trained and it was evidenced through the surveys, where the quantitative method was applied. Given the answers given as a result of the questions, the result of the paper is that teachers should cultivate the effort as good community leaders and implement new educational strategies that facilitate the educational process within the system in time of this pandemic as visionary entities breaking through the limitations of MINEDUC. After carrying out this pedagogical and quantitative study before the parties involved, the thesis writer proposes the implementation of updating and strengthening workshops on leadership for INEB teachers in the municipality of Santo Tomás La Unión, Suchitepéquez.
