Abstract

ABSTRACT The high dropout figures that characterize distance education and, on the contrary, the low percentages of students who manage to take courses adjusted to the times established by the study plan. The objective of the writing is oriented to analyze profiles of a group of first-year students, from hybrid modality, whose trajectories adhered to the temporal progression set by the study plan. A quantitative and descriptive study was carried out in which students and teachers of the National Institute of Basic Education San Benito de Mazatenango Suchitepéquez participated, dictated at a distance, who also met the condition of studying at a distance, and carrying out the security protocols. For data collection, a survey-type digital form was administered on personal and contextual variables with a possible impact on academic trajectories. The results show that, among the variables considered in the study, those that seem to be linked to achievement trajectories are the educational level of the parents, the learning goals and the internal and modifiable causal attributions. Likewise, the contextual variables perceived as promoters of achievement were mainly linked to the teacher's availability and their speed in responding to queries and offering feedback on the activities carried out. The discussion proposes lines of action that, based on the results of the study, could contribute to promoting the achievement of educational quality in the distance modality.
