ABSTRACT The present investigation that is entitled "Psychological orientation and the effect on the behavior and school performance of middle level students, basic cycle of the municipality of San Antonio Suchitepéquez", problem that arises due to the low performance of the student and concern on the part of the teaching and administrative staff, since the lack of psychological orientation is reflected in their emotional state. It is necessary to carry out this research a study with a mixed approach, because to carry it out, useful instruments are used such as: the interview, the survey, the questionnaire, aimed at students, teachers and directors, research in books , all based on the theoretical framework. Results that are beneficial to carry out the investigation, determining cause-effect of the problem and proposed solution to it. Adolescence is a stage full of changes that human beings undergo, where their emotional state is reflected too much, either in behavior or in school performance. Proof of this is the increase in statistics of students who have a low performance in the study or that their behavior has led them to make bad decisions.
