Abstract

ABSTRACT The objective of the research was to verify the level of reach of the training competencies in communication and language of third grade primary school students. For this purpose, a quasi-experiment was designed with third grade students at the primary level of the Rural School for Boys in the afternoon of the Tierras del Pueblo Village and the Esther Carranza Mixed Private School in the municipality of Mazatenango. Two diagnostic tests were developed to evaluate the scope of reading and writing skills of children whose first and second grades of primary school were completed during the years 2021 and 2022 in the rural public and urban private sectors of Suchitepéquez. It was concluded that the alternative hypothesis H1 is accepted, in the case of the achievement of reading comprehension skills, while, about writing, the alternative hypothesis is rejected, and the null is accepted. Based on the above, the following emerging thesis is postulated: Ho. The implementation and execution of teaching in Communication and L1 language in the third grade of primary education does not influence the scope of children's writing skills, while it does influence the learning of comprehensive reading.
