Abstract

The curriculum has to do with the progressive organization of the learning that corresponds to a certain cycle or level of education, with this the curricular transformation allows to specify the interaction of the curricular components that in turn develop the interaction of the teaching-learning process. In the curriculum, the subjects involved must respond to the needs, reality, characteristics and aspiration of the students in training. The Ministry of Education within the Educational Reform seeks the innovation of the educational system assuming the need to strengthen the work of students, parents and teachers in the construction of institutional educational projects. The educational reform proposes the strengthening of this triangle to specify its participation in the training of students. The Ministry of Education intends that the educational community has an approach that intertwines the commitment, giving as an end the accompaniment to the process of training students. Within the framework of the previous observations, with this research, it was tried to evaluate the participation of the father in the school performance of the middle level student of the National Institute of Basic Education of the municipality of San Miguel Panán, Suchitepéquez. The aims of education presuppose, on the one hand, the duty to stimulate the convergence of the educational influences of the school and the family, and, on the other, to maintain communication channels that enrich the relations between the two. The parent serves as an essential part of the Educational Reform. Finally, the curriculum intends that the educational community can focus on the student’s education, engaging the parent in the accompaniment of their academic training, facilitating the teacher to fulfill the established competences, training the students with a critical, logical thinking and analytical to be able to assess the difficulties that may arise and to give them a successful solution.
