Abstract

ABSTRACT The present investigation was carried out in the establishments of the secondary level of the Municipality of Mazatenango of the Department of Suchitepéquez, studying the impact of the Curricular Area of Entrepreneurship for Productivity of the CNB of the cycle of basic education of the secondary level, as a motivational platform to train young people entrepreneurs. This research process was developed in two stages. The first was based on the collection of data collected through the application of interviews and participant observation, during the development of Practice II of the Teaching Staff of Secondary Education in Pedagogy specialized in Educational Administration, elements of judgment that were subjected to an analysis and interpretation in the process of systematizing the experience. The second stage was carried out during the Graduation Work course of the tenth cycle of the bachelor’s degree in Pedagogy specialized in Educational Administration where cases of young entrepreneurs who have managed to start business projects were selected thanks to the impulse received in the Curricular Area of Entrepreneurship for the Productivity. The study found that among the factors that determine the training of entrepreneurs, the valorization of the previous knowledge about entrepreneurship that the students had intervenes since they have lived family experiences of entrepreneurship; on the other hand, another factor is the didactics used by the teacher of the curricular area who have implemented the methodologies, techniques, strategies and technological resources as suggested by the new approach of the National Base Curriculum. All this has favored the development of their skills achieved thanks to significant learning and knowledge regarding the management of economic, ethical, and cognitive aspects for the development of entrepreneurship projects. The close concordance of the entrepreneurial curricular area and the motivation of young people to formulate projects as entrepreneurs is verified.
