Abstract
ABSTRACT The present investigation was carried out at the INEB-INED Institute of Basic and Diversified Education in San Francisco Zapotitlán Suchitepéquez, where an investigation was carried out aimed at knowing the causes of the demotivation of students for learning the spanish language. For this, the theoretical base of the study was collected by reviewing documents related to the subject consulted journals indexed in the virtual library; In addition, it was possible to expand the information by consulting professors and students through the virtual realization of structured interviews. Its main findings refer to the fact that the didactic strategies to teach the Curricular Area of Communication and Language are located in the model of the traditional method, so the teaching of this area becomes routine and not very motivating for the student. The dictation of content, the reading of topics, followed by the explanation and worksheets predominate, resulting in demotivation and the little attention of the students in the classes. These negative factors distort the linguistic, grammatical and spelling skills within the written and oral expression of the Spanish language. For this reason, it is recommended that the curricular area in question be taught with active strategies and techniques, as suggested by the CNB, to integrate the theory and practice of communication and exchange of ideas in the spanish language, thereby strengthening the motivation for the study of curricular area.
