Abstract

ABSTRAC The present research work called Sexual Education and its incidence in pregnancies of adolescent students of the NUFED basic cycle, (Study carried out in the municipality of San Lorenzo, Suchitepéquez)" arises due to the imminent concern of teaching staff, parents, as well as from the educative centre. To carry out and develop this research, a quantitative and qualitative study was carried out, with a bibliographical research, and the application of a closed and multiple-choice survey which is directed to students, teachers and parents, with the objective of study through a deductive method, which allows to determine in a sustained way the results of this research, to find the causes why young people get pregnant at a very early age, as well as the proposed solution to this problem. There is concern on the part of educational centers to implement comprehensive sexual education as part or support of the base national curriculum, in the sense of including other topics on sexuality and adolescence that are of benefit to students at the basic level and thus avoid that girls become pregnant at a very young age and face many health risks such as maternal mortality and morbidity, as well as many other risks, such as dropping out of school.
