Abstract

ABSTRACT The present research work linked to educational processes specifically with the training in values of students of all levels, for which the thesis called Practice of values and its impact on academic performance in students of the basic cycle was developed, whose study was carried out at the National Institute of Basic Education Flor del Café Mazatenango, Suchitepéquez, which arises due to the imminent concern of the teaching staff, parents, as well as the educational center to strengthen relationships of communication and respect, as well as the practice of values of basic cycle students and how these values affect their academic performance. To carry out and develop this research, a quantitative and qualitative study was carried out, through observation of the behavior of the groups, with bibliographic research, and the application of a closed multiple choice survey, which is directed at students, and teachers, with the objective of study through a deductive method, which allows the results of this research to be determined in a sustained manner, to find the causes why students behave inappropriately and therefore result in low academic performance. There is concern on the part of educational centers to comprehensively implement moral values as part of a course or support of the base national curriculum, in the sense of strengthening good moral relationships within the classroom, as is of utmost importance in the home and society as such.
