Abstract

ABSTRACT The research was conducted in Caserío Palestina of the municipality of San Francisco Zapotitlán Department of Suchitepéquez, with the main objective of the types of violence, which have been suffered by women of the village, determinating the causes and consequences that cause domestic, physical, psychological, sexual and economic violence affecting them, being a public health problem, not only affects in all respects to each of them but also their families It is a qualitative study with descriptive and narrative character. I was selected a purposive sample of twenty women who were approached to obtain the necessary information that allowed for the research. The techniques of direct and indirect observation was applied, so that document review at the municipal office of women were applied to gather information addressed to each, the interview was used structured through visits at the home of each of which agreed to be interviewed voluntarily. Analyzing the results, it follows that the above types of violence has had a major impact on the lives of each of the women who have been victims of bad treatment they give their housemates, as well as damages in all areas to the whole family in general, this creates a deadlock causing shortages, physical and psychological problems each member of these families because they don’t live in an atmosphere of harmony, peace and tranquility.
